Hope all had a wonderful n cheerful Xmas. Needless to say that ur new year will be rich in happiness…but lemme add a pinch of prosperity to that! Here’s wishin u all a very prosperous new year.
Now to the main story: the new year did start with a bang. But lets not fast forward. We’ll start off with Xmas. This time there was no work to play spoil sport J as a matter of fact, things are looking good. I was and still am on bench for like the last 3 weeks and I also am getting a bravo award(its for the whole team actually J). That’s something the client gives when they r happy(or they feel that we have done something that they thought was very complicated…yeah..we all work wonders!!!) neways I had all my leaves approved too. So I start off from pune to Mumbai on the 23rd nite. Me n a friend of mine drove all the way to Mumbai in the BMW. The drive was really nice. On reaching Mumbai we split ways as it was getting really late for her but the nite was still young for me as my flight was at 0200 hrs on Saturday. So me rang up a friend(he was the only guy in town as all the rest had left for their natives early…) with the idea of doing our routine stuff…but that was not to happen as he wudnt pick p the cell. I guess he started his routine a little early without me :p
So there I was all alone with a BMW and then it struck me…I had nowhere to park the BMW and I cant take it with me on the flight as they have a limitation on the check in baggage weight :p so I again called up the friend of mine with whom I had driven to Mumbai n made arrangements to put my BMW to sleep for the year end J once I tucked her in safe, I left for the airport.
In the airport, there was still around 50 minutes for my flight. Me did all the poojas and got my boarding pass to my year end celebrations. As soon as I was about to go for the security check n stuff there comes a pretty huge group. To be more precise, the group was very pretty. It had both guys n gals but it were the gurlz who caught my attention and from wat was written on their chests I cud infer that they belonged to the shiamak davar dance group. Lucky bastard ! neways I delayed my security check by another 15 minutes and once I refreshed my eyes with all the gory details, I went ahead and boarded. My travel partners were Air India and needless to say there was not much entertainment inside.
About the female crew inside: I wished that they cud’ve had santa tattoos on their hips or back…u know the ones that look like they are peeping out of the skirts/jeansJ or atleast worn the santa caps to denote that Xmas was around the corner. But no..all were totally clad in sarees and I mean totally with a capital T. damn…and some ass had one pair of stinking socks yaar…it sucked. It took the air hostess to spray some air freshener 4-5 times to kill that odour. Finally I reached Chennai. Yes people…Chennai was my port of entry into south India. I first met up with a school mate there. He had come to the airport to pick me up. Had some really awesome filter coffee from a place near the airport. I can say that my Kochi International airport is a 100 times better than the Chennai airport, a 1000 times better than the Mumbai airport and I donno abt the delhi airport as I haven’t been there as yet J J J
I was to board a train to Coimbatore from there the very same day. So after some totally meticulous planning and triangulations, I made time to meet my sis too in Chennai. After I bid adieu to her, we(me n friend) left to the Chennai Central Railway St. It was a miniature of aka Mumbai VT Station just that we here tamil tamil and only tamil there. There was some more time for my train to Coimbatore and since I had decided to reduce the number of sins I commit, I decided I wud take a ticket. I stood in the Q and it was relatively short one. As I was separated from the counter by just 2 fellow human beings, I began to notice that the Q was not movin at all. Damn. It was as if Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari ran put of fuel just before the checkered flag. With my expertise in the Tamil language and my communication skills I quickle came to know that the entire railway ticketing system crashed. Hahaha. Hahahaha. I cudnt prevent myself from but applaud the sense of timing of my misfortune. There I was in the Q to get the damn ticket and u guys believe it or not I was there in the same point for almost 4hrs(actually 2 hrs n 41 minutes). In this time I cud c the empty rack of my train comin up. Also the officials assured us that the train wudnt leave until we were all given tickets J so it wudnt make sense to not take a ticket as the train wud still not leave the station L and donno how but after around 2 hrs the officials got the idea of giving the customers hand written tickets on a slip of paper. All that time we cud c rubber chappals flying from behind slamming on the counters. Frustrated fellow citizens comin and badmouthing the officials…the police comin and whisking away trouble mongers. In between all this there was some holy celebrity who had made a grand entrance. I say holy from his attire, long beard and celebrity coz of the host of security guards with guns. I was thinking that there wud be a shoot out there if one of those unidentified flying chappals hit that guy. Thankfully the owners of those chappals had awesome aims and they hit the bulls eye every time. Finally I got the tickets and boarded the train. To my utter surprise I found that there were no seats to park my ass. Damn. And the ticket checker also had given up his duty as there were too many passengers and may be he was just being kind.
Neways after 7 grueling hours of train travel, I reached Coimbatore. I was welcomed by some sumptuous food. And then the next day I drove from Coimbatore to Kochi via Thrissur. Had a weddin to attend in Kochi n then I left for Kollam to my dad’s place where I was to celebrate Xmas in authentic Christian ishtyle. It felt good. The best part was the food n wine … not necessarily in that order ;) had a great time with lotsa close relatives. It was the 25th and it felt like Xmas. Attended midnite mas and sang happy birthday J once done with that I went n met a couple of my friends there and once again gave in to my temptations J the next day was a day to reboot my system.
From threre I drove off back to Thrissur where I was for a couple of days. Again met up with a few friends who r now doctors. Man…It was tough to believe that we were after all engineers n doctors…sheeesh…we kinda did it finally J but it was real fun da. And then on the 29th I drove to Coimbatore again. On 30th I boarded to Bangalore where I was to welcome the new year.
Oh boy…that we did with a bang J
In Bangalore we were just 4 of us but 4 college mates/hostel mates/room mates. We decided we wudnt spent unnecessarily on some club/disc and that we wud invest that in order to make our ‘spirits’ fly high J we saw a movie too … I guess it was the bond movie – casino royale J we had a gala new year celebration. Well…if u ask me to describe it, I cannot give u specifics of what we did but I can assure u that it was an unforgettable experience, atleast for a few years ahead J J J
I returned to Mumbai on the 2nd and the Bangalore airport was totally bustling with activity. I had a delayed flight but I had no complaints as the crowd in the airport was so awesome man. All the delhi and via delhi flights were delayed (some cancelled) and I must say that it is one helluva crowd that goes to delhi. It was just oooossome. The flight back to Mumbai was Indian Airlines but I must say it was much better than air India. There was a lot of oomph factor in this flight…crowd wise as well as crew wise. It was an all women crew and they were all in sarees too but damn…I sure agree if on the right bodies, it is indeed the sexiest attire for a lady J
All in all …Happy new year it was. We were able to bid adieu to 2006 in a grand manner and 2007 was also welcomed royally. And I did get a lot of wishes for a happy n prosperous new year…am sure that it will be a very happy one…just hoping that at least one of those ‘prosperous’ wishes hits the bulls eye J
Be good n have a wonderful year ahead.
