Just thought I'll let u guys know about a very interesting device we
have here at our place in the US. It's a "daal detector". Ou heard or
rather read it correct: daal = the chrome yellow/orange colored
cylindrical partcles used to make a very common n tasty Indian
delicacy - the daal :)
Its just that whenever we try making this delicacy at our home,
sometime during the process, one can hear a very loud n continuos beep
beep beep sound. Man … its irritating. Its actually the smoke detector
that's goes off. It seems that in case this stays beeping for quite
some time, the cops/fire dept comes over to the source of the beeping.
I always wonder how interesting it would be to share the daal with the
cops/fire brigade. This also acts as a communication signal that daal
is in the menu for that day. Usually its my duty to see to it that the
daal detector goes off quick and that too much of daal is not detected
so that we have to share it with the cops :)
